Dudley C. Goar

Dudley Goar is a highly experienced criminal defense attorney and civil litigator. Attorney Goar approaches each client’s case with focus, dedication and persistence in order to achieve the best possible outcome. Attorney Goar worked interned for a federal judge while in law school, and also worked for the Massachusetts Supreme Judicial Court’s staff attorney’s office during and after law school. Both experiences provided unique and valuable insight into the ways that judges view legal issues. After law school, Attorney Goar worked for two Boston law firms concentrating in insurance defense, where he honed his litigation and courtroom skills before opening his own practice in 2003. Attorney Goar has dedicated the last twenty-five years to defending client rights in the courtroom. In civil matters, he also has extensive experience with resolving cases using various forms of alternative dispute resolution such as mediation, arbitration and conciliation.

Obtaining the best result requires experience. Attorney Goar understands which strategies are effective, inside and outside the courtroom. Often, obtaining the best results requires negotiations with the prosecutor or opposing party’s attorney and finding an out-of-court solution to the dispute through pre-trial diversion (in criminal cases) or alternative dispute resolution (in civil cases). If negotiations fail, then Attorney Goar will draw on his nearly three decades of trial experience to achieve client objectives in the courtroom.
